CEDAR BLUFF PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES

SEPTEMBER 4, 2007 AT 5:00 P.M.

 

The Cedar Bluff Planning Commission met in regular session in the Council Room at Town Hall, 3420 Spring Street, Cedar Bluff, Alabama, Tuesday, September, 2007 at 5:00 p.m., pursuant to notice duly posted as prescribed by law. Chairman Herb Sherwin presided and called the meeting to order.  Members in attendance were as follows:

Item No. 1:                                                       Call to Order

 

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Herb Sherwin.

 

Item No. 2:                                                       Approve minutes of the August 6, 2007 meeting

 

A motion was made by W K Summers, seconded by Billie Harris, that the minutes be approved as presented.  Motion carried (5-0).

 

Item No. 3:                                                       Discuss the progress of getting city maps changed to reflect County Roads.

 

Chairman Sherwin advised he was still working on the street names and would report back at a later date.        

 

Item No. 4:                                                       Old Business.

 

            In Old Business, Chairman Sherwin advised he would like to hold a public hearing an amend the Zoning Code, Paragraph 5.4 to allow vehicles up to one (1) ton to park in residential areas..  He had noticed several locations in town where large vehicles were parked in residential areas. There was also a discussion about have a place in town for the large vehicles to park.

DeLana Martin advised she would talk to the Police Chief about the possibility of the police department enforcing the code.

            There was a lengthy discussion about possibly amending the Zoning Code to include a site plan whereby all commercial building construction would be required to submit along with plans and specifications a landscaping plan to be review by the Planning Commission before building permits are issued.

            DeLana Martin advised she would call the League of Municipalities to see what would have to be done to incorporate this change.

There being no further business to come before the meeting, a motion was made by W K Summers, seconded by DeLana Martin, that the meeting be adjourned          (5:28 p. m).  Motion carried (5-0).
