Item No. 3: Public hearing to consider amending Article IV, Section 5.4 Truck Parking Restrictions of the Zoning Code to regulate parking of pickups and commercial vehicles in residential districts.
Chairman Sherwin declared a public hearing open to discuss amending the zoning code to increase the size of pickups and commercial vehicles from three quarter (3/4) ton to one (1) ton in residential districts
Several citizens appeared with concerns regarding the changes. Mr. W K Summers advised he had been on the commission that proposed the zoning code in 1999 and the intent was not to hurt the citizens, but to improve the town.
It was noted that this change in vehicle size for parking in residential districts was actually lowering the restrictions and the enforcement would be through the zoning official or the police department.
After a lengthy discussion, a motion was made by Harlan Starr, seconded by W K Summers to recommend to the Town Council to amend Article IV, Section 5.4 Truck Parking Restrictions of the Zoning Code to increase the size of pickups and commercial vehicles parked in residential districts from three quarter (3/4) ton to one (1) ton Motion carried (6-0).
Item No. 4: Old Business.
In
Old Business,
She was advised the Planning Commission has limited powers in regulating any building or site plans. Since the town has a zoning ordinance, the zoning official/inspector has sole power for all plans.
Item No. 5: New Business

Item No. 6: Adjournment
There being no further business to come before the meeting, a motion was made by Harlan Starr, seconded by Billie Harris, that the meeting be adjourned (6:05 p. m). Motion carried (6-0).
