SPECIAL CALLED TOWN COUNCIL MEETING

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 2006 AT 10:00 A.M.

 

The Town Council of the Town of Cedar Bluff, County of Cherokee, State of Alabama, met in a Special Session in the Council Room at Town Hall, 3420 Spring Street, Cedar Bluff, Alabama, Monday, November 20, 2006 at 10:00 a.m., pursuant to notice duly posted as prescribed by law. Mayor Martha Baker presided and called the meeting to order.  Members in attendance were as follows:

The Invocation was given by Council Member Leatha Harp.

 

FLAG SALUTE

 

AGENDA ITEM NO. 1:                    Consider authorizing the purchase of a new police vehicle to replace Officer J. P. Curry’s vehicle.

 

                              A motion was made by Council Member Sprouse, seconded by Council Member Pearson, to authorize the purchase of a new police vehicle for Officer J P Curry and to apply the balance not paid by insurance to the loan for the two (2) police vehicles currently on order.  Motion carried (6-0)

 

AYE:  Sprouse, Pearson, Baker, Harp, Burkhalter, Sides

NAY:  None

           

            After a lengthy discussion about the equipment needed for the police vehicle and the use of one of the old police vehicles as a backup car in emergencies, a motion was made by Council Member Sprouse, seconded by Council Member Sides to authorize the replacement of the camera that was damaged in the wrecked vehicle.     Motion carried (6-0)

NAY:  None

 

AGENDA ITEM NO. 2:                    Adjournment

 

                        There being no further business to come before the meeting, a motion was made by Council Member Sprouse, seconded by Council Member Harp that the meeting be adjourned (10:40 a.m.).  Motion carried (6-0).
