SPECIAL CALLED JOINT MEETING

CEDAR BLUFF TOWN COUNCIL AND CEDAR BLUFF UTILITY BOARD & SOLID WASTE AUTHORITY MEETING

TUESDAY, MAY 3, 2007 AT 3:00 P.M.

 

The Cedar Bluff Town Council and Cedar Bluff Utility Board & Solid Waste Authority of the Town of Cedar Bluff, County of Cherokee, State of Alabama, met in Special Session in the Council Room at Town Hall, 3420 Spring Street, Cedar Bluff, Alabama, Tuesday, May 3, 2007 at 3:00 p.m., pursuant to notice duly posted as prescribed by law. Mayor Martha Baker presided and called the meeting to order.  Members in attendance were as follows:

            Also present was Nathan Thacker, Utility Board Member.

 

INVOCATION

     

            The invocation was given by Council member Leatha Harp.

 

AGENDA ITEM NO. 1:                      Consider negotiations on vehicles and equipment between the Town of Cedar Bluff and the Cedar Bluff Utility Board.

 

            Mayor Baker introduced the following proposal for distribution of vehicles and equipment between the Town and the Utility Board.

 

            The Town will give the Utility Board the 1992 White Dodge Dakota pickup which the Town has already declared surplus and the 1984 Camo Chevrolet Pickup and to pay the Utility Board $400.00 for the 1991 Gray Chevrolet S10 pickup that has already been sold.

 

            The Utility Board will to give the White 1992 Ford Ranger to the Town.

 

            The Utility Board will sell to the Town the Massey Ferguson Tractor for $8,000 and the Mosquito Sprayer for $3,400 for a total of $11,400 and will finance this amount for twenty-four (24) months at no interest with a payment of $475.00 per month.

 

            The Town will also exchange their share of the Massey Ferguson Tractor for the Zero Turn mower and bush hog.

 

            Also discussed was the chemicals for the sprayer and it was decided that the Town would purchase the remaining chemicals in the 55 gallon drum at cost.

 

            A motion was made by Council Member Pearson, seconded by Council Member Harp to accept the proposal as presented.  Motion carried (6-0).

            There being no further business to be considered, a motion was made by Council Member Sprouse, seconded by Council Member Burkhalter that the meeting be adjourned at 3:50 p.m.  Motion carried (6-0).
