the Town of Cedar Bluff, County of Cherokee, State of Alabama, met in Special Session
in the Council Room at Town Hall, 3420 Spring Street, Cedar Bluff, Alabama, Thursday,
August 2, 2007 at 1:00 p.m., pursuant to notice duly posted as prescribed by

AGENDA ITEM NO. 1: Consider awarding of bid for the sidewalks along Old Alabama Hwy 9 and Spring Street (Federal Aid Project No. STPTE-TE005 910)
Mayor Baker advised the bids for the sidewalk project were opened and read aloud on July 30, 2007 and Mr. Matt Hawes, CDG Engineers and Associates, Inc. has reviewed the bid and recommends the contract (Transportation Enhancement Project No. STPTE-TE05 (910)) be awarded to the low bidder Northwest Building Supply & Equipment Rental, Inc with a bid of $96,708.00.
The certified bid tabulation of the Sidewalks along Old Alabama Hwy 9 and Spring Street Transportation Enhancement Project No. STPE-TE05 (910) is attached as a part of the official minutes of this meeting.

It was also noted that a letter from Alabama Department of Transportation has been received and concurs with the recommendation to award the contract to Northwest Building Supply & Equipment Rental, Inc. ALDOT has also issued authorization to proceed with the project.
A motion was made by Council Member Burkhalter, seconded by Council Member Pearson to award the contract for the Sidewalks along Old Alabama Hwy 9 and Spring Street Transportation Enhancement Project No. STPE-TE05 (910) to Northwest Building Supply & Equipment Rental, Inc. Motion carried (5-0)

At this time, Mayor Baker asked the Council’s opinion about allowing the local farmers to set up in the city park one day a week to sell their locally grown produce and plants at no charge to the farmers.
The Council Members were all in agreement.
There being no further business to be considered the meeting adjourned at 1:25 p.m.
