SPECIAL CALLED TOWN COUNCIL MEETING
THURSDAY, MAY 4, 2006 AT 3:00 P.M.
The Town Council of the Town of Cedar Bluff, County of Cherokee, State of Alabama, met in a Special Session in the Council Room at Town Hall, 3420 Spring Street, Cedar Bluff, Alabama, Thursday, May 4, 2006 at 3:00 p.m., pursuant to notice duly posted as prescribed by law. Mayor Martha Baker presided and called the meeting to order. Members in attendance were as follows:

AGENDA ITEM NO. 1: Consider a resolution authorizing the sale of the following seized vehicles by the police department at auction.
a. 1979 Ford F150 pick up
b. 1994 GMC pick up
A motion was made by Sprouse, seconded by Sides, to declare the following seized vehicles surplus and to approve a resolution authorizing the sale thereof at auction. Motion carried (5-0).

AGENDA ITEM NO. 2: Consider
authorizing the sale of a surplus 1996 Jeep Cherokee at auction by the Town of
A motion was made by Sprouse, seconded by Sides, to authorize the sale of the surplused 1996 Jeep Cherokee at auction. Motion carried (5-0)

AGENDA ITEM NO. 3: Consider contract for services with Larry’s Tire and Towing for towing and storing vehicles.
Mayor Baker advised that per City Attorney Bill Hawkins, the town should not execute an agreement with Larry’s Tire and Towing for towing and storing vehicles. Mayor Baker also advised she had visited with other local government offices and had learned that most everyone was on the county rotation and the Cherokee County Dispatch office delegated the rotation.
A motion was made by Sprouse, seconded by Pearson, to compile a list of needs by the town for towing and storing of vehicles and consider adopting an ordinance in the near future. Motion carried (5-0).

Baker also advised that the town was having difficulty enforcing the “Dog
Ordinance” in town. After a lengthy
discussion about several issues pertaining to dogs, the council decided to

There being no further business to be discussed, a motion was made by Sides, seconded by Pearson, that the meeting be adjourned 4:48 p.m. Motion carried (5-0).
