I was born in Cedar Bluff and have lived here for most of my life.
My parents, my husband and I, our two sons, and some of my
grandchildren graduated from Cedar Bluff High School. I later
attended Jacksonville State University and graduated with a Master’s
degree in Elementary Education and taught at Cedar Buff until I retired.
I was married to H. L. May, Jr., now deceased. We had two sons,
Tim and Andy. Tim was killed by a drunk driver in 1991. Andy and
his family live in Cartersville, Georgia. I have seven grandchildren and
one great-grandson.
I am active in the Cedar Bluff First United Methodist Church, United
Methodist Women; Cherokee Co Retired Educators; Meals-on-Wheels,
and The Red Hat Society.
I feel honored to have been appointed to the Town Council in my hometown,
which I have always loved.
